The Clarifying Effects of Clary Sage Essential Oil

Clary Sage Essential Oil

I don’t know about you but, I’m finding this whole lockdown thing a little tedious. I’m lucky that I am still working, albeit from home, but being in the house this long is making me feel a little claustrophobic. I looked in my little bag of pick-me-ups and pulled out my trusty Clary Sage oil.  This oil is perfect if you feel the walls are closing in, work is getting on top of you, the day to day is getting a little samey or you’ve recently made friends with a spider who entered your home, I’m not naming names as you already know who you are.

Clary Sage has been described as a tonic for the nerves so; it should come as no surprise that Clary Sage oil is the perfect oil to use if you suffer from panic attacks, depression, or insomnia. It relaxes your muscles making it ideal for PMT, if in fact, if you mix it with a little Rose oil, you can kiss it goodbye.  Also, if you are living with a sulky teenager, stick some Clary Sage in a vapouriser. Not only will it help with their sulkiness, but it’ll also lower your blood pressure too.

Clary Sage is part of the herb family and is a middle note oil, meaning it is a good connector for others, when you are making your own blends. It is a fantastic oil for cleansing, there is a good reason the Native Americans have been using sage for centuries, and if it’s good enough for them, it is more than good enough for me. I am absolutely fascinated by Native American Indians and their traditions which, probably explains why Clary Sage is my go-to when I’m feeling listless and need to give myself a kick in the rear.

There are a few cautions when using this oil, for example, do not use this oil if you are pregnant, drowsy, or take antidepressants.

Please note – you should never apply essential oils directly to your skin.
